OUR CHARITIES
The Pony Up Polo Boosters is so pleased to be able to support well-deserving needs within The Villages Polo Club, as well as affiliated polo interests through direct and indirect contributions from our members and others who love to support our unique polo experience.
The monies to support the following charitable funds are a result of 50/50 raffle sales, events, auctions, t-shirt sales and other Club fundraising activities, along with Booster and fan donations. We accept donations at the member desk at the stadium every Sunday.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR DONATIONS
THE VILLAGES POLO INJURED PLAYERS FUND
There are times when a player, a horse or a team member is injured or is in need of assistance. Our generous members have a long history of supporting The Villages Polo Club's Injured Players Fund. The horse ambulance was donated by, and is maintained by, the Boosters. Players, grooms and team members have all been assisted through this philanthropy.
The following message from Paige Boone was read, expressing appreciation for the Boosters organization:

It would be impossible to talk about the history of The Villages Polo Club without talking about the Boosters in the same breath. Our stories are inextricably intertwined and we are grateful for the continued support for all these years.
While the size, structure, and even name have changed in the last three decades, the members enthusiasm for polo and generosity towards our polo family have been unwavering. That generosity is exemplified by the creation of the Injured Players Fund and all the many people (an animals) that is has helped along the way. No other polo club in the world has a group of fans that so generously give of their time, money, and even their hospitality. We’ve had polo players spend thanksgiving dinner at a booster members home because they were in The Villages over the holiday and away from their family. How incredible is that?!
The fund has been a true lifeline to so many. If you’re new to the Boosters, I’ll share just a few of the amazing ways this fund has supported folks in the last few years:
-
The IPF paid to fly a player back to England when his mother was battling cancer.
-
An employee, who has worked at TVPC nearly 20 years, needed minor surgery on his eye. His insurance covered most of the cost, but what he couldn’t afford was missing two weeks of work for he and his wife (who doesn’t drive). The fund paid both of their salaries for those two weeks.
-
One of our grooms had a young horse that was injured and needed surgery to remove a small piece of bone in its leg. The fund paid for the surgery and the horse went on to play lots of polo.
-
The fund was able to pay for another player to have surgery on his knee to remove the wire cage from his kneecap.
There are countless other examples and heartwarming stories that were all made possible by the Boosters unwavering support and generosity.
Thank you for continuing to show up, cheer, support, donate, and practically adopt the visiting players.
Cheers to 30 years and I hope to raise a glass again in another 30!

THE VILLAGES POLO ACADEMY
Pony Up Polo Boosters supports the Villages Polo Academy. This is the starting point for anyone interested in learning the sport. We help them with equipment needs, shirts and medical care.
ANNUAL NICK JOHNSON TOY DRIVE
In memory of his mother, who passed away after a battle with cancer, Nick Johnson created a toy drive. The Pony Up Polo Boosters donates new, unwrapped toys or funds for the purchase of additional toys. These are then sorted and boxed at our annual Elf Party. We load them up into one of Lordi's trailers and deliver to the Arnold Palmer Children's Hospital in Orlando.
